Garry Crowcroft established Gtech eight years ago in 1998; he started as an apprentice in 1979 with Braid’s of Barnsley - Vauxhall Main Dealership who were later to become Looker’s of Barnsley.His apprenticeship for the City & Guilds Certificate and the higher graded Technicians Certificate were gained while on day release at Barnsley College over a four year period, he later gained NVQ Level 1, 2, and 3 qualifications. After being at Looker’s for ten years Garry decided it was time for a change and in 1989 he began work with a Volvo Main Dealership.

While working at a Volvo Main Dealership Gary went on various training courses at Volvo UK in Daventry this was to be brought up to date with the servicing and maintenance of the new Volvo’s that were being manufactured, in 1995 there was a new Showroom and Service Centre being built in Barnsley by a Volvo Main Dealership and Garry was asked to move to the new garage where he was one of the people who had the job of opening the new Showroom and Service Centre.

In 1996 Garry was promoted to garage foreman a position that had a lot of responsibility; he was in charge of the other mechanics and the daily running of the workshops. After two years as garage foreman he decided that he had worked for an employer for long enough doing the work and the employer taking the income, so in January 1998 he decided to go Self Employed specialising in Volvo cars and servicing all other makes of car as well. He not only services cars but also buys and sells used cars as well supplying new and used spare parts.
